Detailed Itinerary
  Day 1: Arrival in Vientiane:
Upon arrival in Vientiane you will be transferred to your hotel. Spend the rest of the afternoon and evening getting your bearings around the Capital city. Overnight in Vientiane.
  Day 2: Vientiane City Tour (B, L):
After breakfast we start visiting the major sights of the capital; including the old Wat Sisaket - the temple known for having thousands of miniature Buddha statues - and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo which previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image.

On the way to the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa, we stop to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument - known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. To end the days exploring we stop at the Textile Village of Ban Nong Buathong. Overnight in Vientiane.
  Day 3: Vientiane - Buddha Park (B, L):
After breakfast, we embark on the journey to the major attraction of Buddha Park, around 30km outside of town. It is a blend of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures created by a mystical monk, and lies by the Mekong River and the impressive Lao - Thai Friendship Bridge. Late afternoon return to the town and back to your hotel.
  Day 4: Vientiane – Xieng Khouang – Phonesavanh (B, L):
We board a short afternoon flight to Xieng khouang, an area which was devastated by American bombing between 1964 and 1973. Upon arrival, we transfer you to your hotel. Spend the evening relaxing and enjoying the quiet ambiance of Phonesavanh.
  Day 5: Around Xieng Khuang (B, L):
In the morning we venture out to explore the Plain of Jars, an impressive archaeological site where hundreds of large stone jars are littered all over the plateau. We also have time in the afternoon to see the old capital of Muang Khoun and some small villages that are home to the Hmong hill tribe and Tai Dam people, who will revel in sharing their interesting local cultures and colorful history. Overnight in Phonsavanh.
  Day 6: Xieng Khuoang – Luang Phrabang (B, L):
Early morning, we visit the central market of Phonsavanh, watching as the different hill tribes exchange merchandise and barter with each other. We drive towards the next destination of Luang Prabang, stopping off at various sites including the 200 year old Buddha images in Thampra. After a photo stop, we continue driving up hill, enjoying splendid natural scenery taking us over to Luang Prabang city. The tranquility and charm of this town with its cultural sights make it one of the most delightful places to visit in Laos. After checking into hotel you can relax for the rest of the evening. Overnight at Luang Prabang.
Day 7: Luang Prabang City Tour (B, L):
After breakfast we venture out to discover the sights and sounds of the city itself, visiting the National museum, the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrines of Wat Aham and Wat Mai. Late afternoon we go for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred Mount Phousi, taking in the beautiful sunset over Luang Prabang and the Mekong River.

In the evening delve into the Night Market, where you can find extensive collections of handmade textiles from the local tribe people.

Overnight is spent in Luang Prabang.
Day 8: Luang Prabang - Kuang Sii Falls (B, L):
After breakfast drive out of town to the beautiful Kuang Sii Falls. Located around 30km out of the town; it is a great place to swim, relax, or trek to the top of the falls. After a couple of hours we start our return to Luang Prabang, making a short stop at Black Hmong Village, well known as the place where hill tribes make handicraft as souvenirs for visitors passing by.
Day 9: Luang Prabang - Pak Ou Cave (B, L):
In the morning we enjoy a cruise on the Mekong River, which also gives us a peaceful view of the tranquil countryside. Today’s destination is a visit to the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes. Along the way, we stop at the village of Ban Xanghai, where they distill the local rice wine. After lunch we take a short drive to Ban Xang Khong, famous for its hand weaving. The evening is spent at your leisure.

Overnight is again spent in Luang Prabang.
  Day 10: Luang Prabang - Textile Village - Elephant Camp (B, L):
Today we head out of the town towards the elephant camp at Tad Sae, with various activities planned en route to the camp. Make a quick stop at Ban Phom Nom village where almost all of the residents are weavers – previously the town was full of servants that made handicraft items for the King of Laos – and another stop at the Henrimahout monument at Kang Noon, the Frenchman who founded Angkor Wat in Siem Reap. He died at Kang Noon from Malaria when travelling Laos – trying to discover new ground.

Arriving at the camp around lunchtime, your guide will introduce you to the elephants while you feed them vegetables. You will then take a ride on the elephants trekking through part of the jungle!

Late afternoon we will arrive back to Luang Prabang where you can relax after your full day’s adventure.
Day 11: Luang Prabang Departure (B):
After breakfast relax until your flight time to transfer you to airport for your departure.

Your fantastic 11 Day Laos Experience is now at an end – leaving you with a lifetime of memories.

Trip note
  • As this tour involves some trekking – guests should be in reasonably good health – and bring walking equipment.
  • There are many picturesque settings visited on our tours in Laos – Be sure to bring your Camera!
  • Guests should be aware there will be visits to various places of worship, which may require respectful dress and behavior. Female visitors must often wear clothes covering much of their skin – and nothing too revealing.
  • A woman of any nationality is not permitted to touch a monk of any age, or even hand something directly to a monk. However striking up a conversation with a monk is fine.
  • Visitors don’t need any special vaccinations to enter Laos, but it’s wise to ensure you are up to date with standard inoculations before you arrive.
Attention: The itinerary may be subject to change due to the unfavorable weather conditions
