- Attend a traditional water puppet performance in Hanoi’s old quarter
- Craft your own ceramics at Bat Trang village
- Walk amongst the clouds in the mountain retreat of Sapa
- Sail spectacular Halong bay onboard the luxury Paradise cruise
Spend the rest of the day at leisure wandering Hanoi’s Old Quarter, with its eclectic combination of French colonial architecture, oriental styles and emerging contemporary buildings. In the evening transfer to the train station for your overnight trip to Sapa.
You will arrive at Lao Cai train station early in the morning and catch your 40 minute transfer up the winding road to Sapa Town. You will arrive in Sapa in the midst of a mountain sunrise. Check into your hotel and leave your luggage in your room before setting out for breakfast. You’ll embark on a trek into the valley of Muong Hoa. Feel free to catch up on your rest with a restoring nap back at the hotel. In the afternoon after you feel refreshed and rejuvenated you’ll embark on a trek into the valley of Muong Hoa. You’ll navigate small winding paths and trails etched into the mountainside before you reach Lao Chai and Tavan villages where you will visit the Tay and Day tribes. A car will be waiting to take you back up to Sapa for your overnight stay at the hotel.
After lunch you will board the cruise and head for Sung Sot cave, where you will marvel at caverns walled with cascades of glittering rock and dripping with stalactites thousands of years in the making. From here you will head to nearby Titop island, where an ascent of over 400 stairs will find you with all of Halong bay spread at your feet. You may opt for something a little less strenuous and recline on the golden sand at the island’s base, or go for a swim in the tranquil waters. Return to the boat and it will head to its overnight anchorage place, a quiet and secluded area away from the main stream of Halong traffic. Spend some time to chat with your fellow passengers, meeting people from all over the world before you get the chance to enjoy a culinary tapestry of international and Vietnamese flavors at the buffet dinner served in the dining room. The evening is spent at your leisure; make the most of the cruise’s happy hour, try your hand at squid fishing with the crew, or just recline and revel in the night scenery.
