Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Luang prabang (D):
Welcome to Luang prabang! Upon your arrival in Luangsay pier, your guide will be waiting to help transfer you to your hotel. After a short rest we will venture out for the first time; visiting the National museum, the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrines of Wat Aham and Wat Mai. Late afternoon we go for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred Mount Phousi, taking in the beautiful sunset over Luang Prabang and the Mekong River. In the evening delve into the Night Market, where you can find extensive collections of handmade textiles from the local tribe people. Overnight is spent in Luang Prabang.
Day 2: Luang Prabang - Kuang Sii Falls (B, L):
You may want to get up early to participate in alms giving, where hundreds of monks walking along side walk to collect rice and food from laymen. After breakfast drive out of town to the beautiful Kuang Sii Falls. Located around 30km out of the town; it is a great place to swim, relax, or trek to the top of the falls. After a couple of hours we start our return to Luang Prabang, making a short stop at Black Hmong Village, well known as the place where hill tribes make handicraft as souvenirs for visitors passing by.

We arrive back at the hotel in Luang Prabang in the late afternoon, and you can spend the evening at your leisure.
Day 3: Luang Prabang - Pak Ou Cave (B, L):
After breakfast, we enjoy a cruise on the Mekong River, which also gives us a peaceful view of the tranquil countryside. Today’s destination is a visit to the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes. Along the way, we stop at the village of Ban Xanghai, where they distill the local rice wine. After lunch we take a short drive to Ban Xang Khong, famous for its hand weaving. Late afternoon we arrive back at Luang Prabang where you can spend your last night here relaxing.
  Day 4: Luang Pranbang - Xieng Khuang (B, L):
Today we are driving about 6hrs to Xieng khouang, an area which was devastated by American bombing between 1964 and 1973. Check into your hotel and after a rest we visit the Plain of Jars, an impressive archaeological site where hundreds of large stone jars are littered all over the plateau. We also have time this afternoon to see the old capital of Muang Khoun and some small villages that are home to the Hmong hill tribe and Tai Dam people, who will revel in sharing their interesting local cultures and colorful history. Overnight in Phonsavanh.
  Day 5: Xieng Khuang – Vientiane (B, L):
After breakfast enjoy your last tour around Xieng Khouang, visit the central market or just relax with a coffee before taking a short flight to Vientiane. Upon arrival in Vientiane you will be transferred to your hotel.

Spend the rest of the afternoon and evening getting your bearings around the Capital city. Overnight in Vientiane.
  Day 6: Vientiane City Tour (B, L):
After breakfast we start visiting the major sights of the capital; including the old Wat Sisaket - the temple known for having thousands of miniature Buddha statues - and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo which previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image.

On the way to the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa, we stop to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument - known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. To end the days exploring we stop at the Textile Village of Ban Nong Buathong. Overnight in Vientiane.
  Day 7: Vientiane – Pakse - Boliven Plateua (B, L):
Early morning transfer to Wattay Airport for a flight to Pakse. You will be met and driven to Saravanh province via Tateng - the stumbling water and lush vegetation area around Tad Fan waterfall. We make a stop en route to observe the traditional locals making tea and coffee, after tasting we continue on to the Boloven Plateau area. Enjoy being out in the open countryside where you can see the cultivation of coffee, tea, cardamom, bananas and other crops.

When we arrive at Tad Lo Waterfall, we stop by several small villages occupied by some of the country’s ethnic minorities. Return to town late in the afternoon and spend the rest of the night in Pakse.
  Day 8: Pakse – Wat Phou – Don Khong (B, L):
After breakfast, we head out towards Khong Island, crossing the Mekong by ferry to visit the pre-angkorian ruins of Wat Phu - one of Southeast Asia's most dramatically situated temples and a UNSECO World Heritage site since 2001. This wonderful archeological site of Khmer civilization dates back to the 9th century.

We continue our way to the 4000 islands region by land and catch a ferry motor boat to Don Khong. Overnight in Don Khong.
  Day 9: Don Khong – Khone Island – Pakse (B, L):
After Breakfast, we go for a trip of the surrounding countryside by boarding a long trail boat touring to the Don Khone area, taking you to visit some the remains of the French period, Liphi Waterfall (the Corridor of the Devil). We return to the mainland at Ban Nakasang, a small fishing village and then drive further south to visit Khone Phapheng, the biggest waterfall in the South East Asia. It is an impressive region with lush vegetation near the Lao-Cambodian border, teeming with wildlife and it is one of the most scenic destinations in Laos. Trip note
  • As this tour involves some trekking – guests should be in reasonably good health – and bring walking equipment.
  • There are many picturesque settings visited on our tours in Laos – Be sure to bring your Camera!
  • Guests should be aware there will be visits to various places of worship, which may require respectful dress and behavior. Female visitors must often wear clothes covering much of their skin – and nothing too revealing.
  • A woman of any nationality is not permitted to touch a monk of any age, or even hand something directly to a monk. However striking up a conversation with a monk is fine.
  • Visitors don’t need any special vaccinations to enter Laos, but it’s wise to ensure you are up to date with standard inoculations before you arrive.

Attention: The itinerary may be subject to change due to the unfavorable weather conditions
